About Us

In 1998, Bob Canino was the VP Finance of a mid-sized international company.  As he talked to senior level personnel at other companies, Bob realized the need for a business advisor that could provide finance and administrative services and advice to smaller companies at reasonable prices.   In many cases, he found that smaller and start-up companies could not afford a full-time administrator, controller/CFO or HR Director.   Bob decided to leave his VP position and begin an advisory company that met these needs.  That is when CaninoConsultants was born in Houston, Texas.

CaninoConsultants provide part-time or interim business services to small and emerging business in a Controller/CFO or Administrator role.  In many instances, services are provided on a weekly or monthly basis.  CaninoConsultants provide these services so that management (or the owners) can concentrate on the operations of the company.  In the case of emerging companies, CaninoConsultants creates best practices and procedures, as well as job descriptions to assure that the administrative functions will operate effectively and efficiently.  We provide services for emerging companies until such time as the company requires someone in a fulltime position.  At that time, we help the client develop the CFO/Controller job description and find the right person for the position.

In addition, CaninoConsultants provides project services, such as preparation of workpapers for a company’s service providers, bank reconciliations, and financial report systems.

We provide consultants that are “over” qualified so that the learning curve is minimized, but at a lower rate than the norm.  Please review “Success Stories” attached to see how we have helped companies overcome obstacles and meet their goals.

CaninoConsultants also has numerous “friends” that can serve as professional resources to your company.  These persons are professionals that we have worked with and can heartily recommend.  We provide these referral services as part of our services.  We generally do not receive any referral fees.  Any fees we received are made known to our clients before the referral.

We have flexible billing practices.   We can bill fees on a fixed weekly/monthly rate, fixed project rate or an hourly rate.  We fit our billing practices to your budget needs, rather than make you fit our billing practices.
